What do the letters in the size codes mean?

The model codes help you find exactly the right fit for different body types:
F – roomier body, slightly shortened legs
L – roomier body, normal legs
MK – dachshund cut (long back, short legs)
V – poodle cut (narrower body, slightly longer legs)
W – whippet cut
B model – roomier neck opening, for molosser-type dogs

Can products be made to measure?

Yes! Made-to-measure orders can be placed at our store – we can then fit and design the garment to your dog’s exact measurements.

How do I know if my dog is cold?

A cold dog may shiver, hunch up or look for shelter. The ears and belly feel cold, movement becomes stiff, or the dog wants to go back inside quickly. Short-haired and small dogs, puppies, seniors and unwell dogs get cold more easily.

When does a dog need clothing?

In cold, windy or rainy weather – especially around freezing and below. Clothing is recommended for short-haired dogs, small breeds, puppies and seniors, and for any dog spending a long time outdoors in wet or windy conditions.

What should I get for my dog?

At minimum a weatherproof coat or overall that protects from wind and moisture. Choose the right size and model for your dog: easy to put on and take off, breathable and easy to wash. Add a warmer mid-layers.

In what weather does a dog need a coat?

A coat is useful when the temperature is near or below freezing, and when there is wind, rain, sleet or snow. In a cold wind, a waterproof and windproof coat keeps your dog warm and dry.

Does Janutex offer a made-to-measure or tailoring service?

Yes. Janutex is a Finnish dog-clothing workshop: we make our products in Finland and offer a made-to-measure service for unusual measurements or special needs, so the garment fits your dog perfectly.

How do I choose the right size?

Measure the back length, chest girth and front leg height. Compare them with the size chart and choose the model that matches your dog’s body shape. If your dog falls between two sizes or has unusual proportions, we recommend a made-to-measure order.

What payment methods does the Janutex online store accept?

The online store uses Paytrail, which covers Finnish online banking, payment cards, mobile wallets and the other options Paytrail provides. PayPal is also available at checkout.

How are orders delivered?

Orders within Finland are delivered by Posti. Orders to other EU countries are delivered by our carrier partners (DPD, GLS, UPS and PostNord) to a pickup point or your home address. Checkout shows the available options and estimated delivery time.
